Recently, I had the opportunity to attend the annual Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) event in San Diego.

What an incredible experience!
The CAF’s mission is to provide opportunities and support to people with physical challenges, so they can pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness and competitive athletics. The CAF believes that involvement in sports at any level increases self-esteem, encourages independence and enhances quality of life.
The kid’s race was the highlight of the day. Watching these kids compete with big smiles, some trash talking, and an enthusiastic crowd was very inspiring. The kids ran a short course after receiving words of encouragement from San Diego Padre (and SD native) Joe Musgrove.
After the kid’s race, there was a wheelchair kid’s race. Looking around there was not a dry eye watching. What CAF does for these kids is incredible.
If you get a chance, go to a CAF event in the future. You will be glad you did!
